We all know that airports are chaotic places. Every day, millions of people pass through airports, bound for bachelorette parties, family vacations, and everything in between. While your airport outfit may not be at the top of your travel checklist, you should still plan ahead.
We’ve all been there: rushing to the airport in a last-minute outfit that looked fine at home, only to regret it throughout the flight. Perhaps the persky waistband digs in, the fabric feels suffocating, or you’re freezing under the plane’s constant air conditioning. The worst feeling is being stuck in those clothes for hours before you can remove them. However, with the right formula, it is possible to pull off a good airport outfit that keeps you comfortable without going full Adam Sandler.
“When putting together an airport outfit, I’m always thinking about how to look chic while remaining as comfortable as possible,” says personal stylist Brielle Bellew. “My go-to hack for an elevated yet laid-back look is extra-wide-leg jeans.”
Of course, wearing denim on a plane is not for everyone, particularly on long-haul flights. In those cases, Bellew recommends a neutral matching set that can be layered and paired with a chic jacket. “I always prioritise fabric comfort above all else,” she says. “That way, I’m not irritated or too hot or cold mid-air.”

An extra-large coat in the shape of a fluffy pillow or cloud is definitely on trend. It can also be dressed up or down depending on the look you want. In true Glinda fashion, Ariana Grande paired her black puffer with lace tights and Valentino by Alessandro Michele Bowow Pumps.

My number one life hack is to always wear an oversized blazer. The structured, formal look of a basic black blazer can completely transform your entire outfit; just look at Zendaya, who wore one over a casual hoodie.

Despite my best efforts, I can never bring myself to dress up beyond a casual outfit at the airport. Sorry, but not sorry! Selena Gomez’s matching set and cardigan show that being comfortable can also be stylish.

Track pants are regaining popularity, and they also make ideal airport bottoms. They exude Sporty Spice but are also extremely comfortable.
