Are you curious about how to contour your face shape? It’s time to learn everything there is to know about bronzing and contouring as summer is soon here. You only need a bronzer, a contour brush, a contour palette, and a blending brush.
Here are some useful guidelines for learning how to contour your face shape:
- The bronzer shouldn’t be 3 to 4 shades darker than your skin tone.
- It should be put on the high places where the sun naturally hits. Like your chin, cheekbones, bridge of your nose, and forehead.
- When using a cream-based contouring product, use cream or liquid foundation.
- If you’re using powder, use a powder or powder foundation with a powder-based contour product.
1. FACE IN THE SHAPE OF A HEART
Begin at the centre of the forehead and very gently shade a C shape around the hairline. A good tip is to always have a clean brush on hand to help you blend. And if you want to make the chin look shorter, lightly shade the area under the chin. Make a very gentle line under the cheekbone. Don’t miss this phase because most heart-shaped faces have beautiful cheekbones.
2. Face in the shape of an oval
Begin contouring at the hairline. Oval-shaped features are already lovely, so when you shade from the hairline, make it a little darker. Also, use bronzer. Then put some colour under the cheekbones. You should start at the end of the ear and proceed down slowly. Create a triangle that vanishes. You may also contour around the temples. Adding shadow will make your cheekbones stand out more. It will also make your eyes look bigger. You can also put some colour on the bridge of your nose. Use a bigger brush to shade the nose.
3. Round FACE SHAPE
Here’s a simple way to make your face less round. Use a cream to shape your face. Put the cream on the back of your hand to warm it up. Don’t shape your cheeks too much. First, gently shape the hairline. Skip this stage if your forehead is thin. Use this for the big forehead. Also, shape the spaces around the temples a little bit. Then shape the jawline to make your face look smaller. When you shade your cheekbones, be careful not to make your face look fuller. Begin at the end of the ear and move down. If your cheeks are quite full, shade them in. This will make your cheeks smaller. Don’t shape the area under your chin. It will make the curve of the face shorter.
4. FACE IN A SQUARE SHAPE
Cutting and smoothing the corners is the key for square-shaped faces. Not hard to do. Start darkening the temples, making sure the shadow is circular. Don’t be scared to mix a little into the eyebrows. Then make the curve of the jawline softer by rounding it.
