Savannah Guthrie’s characteristic caramel-colored hair is well-known among Today show viewers. Every year, millions of televisions display her golden tone, adding a touch of brightness to your morning. However, Guthrie’s hair wasn’t always yellow. Her natural hair color will make you give a double take.
Before becoming a Today show host, Guthrie worked as a newscaster for the local station KVOA in Tucson, Arizona, and had a quite distinct beautiful look.

Yesterday, the 53-year-old was reminded of the good old days when a fan named Carol presented her with a poster of Guthrie from the 1990s. The fan said that she discovered the photo “online” and has been “watching [her] since then.”
In the retro photo, Guthrie is seen reporting on the Olympics while wearing a voluminous dark-brunette haircut with a side part.
Oh my god. “Hello, welcome, and I don’t think we need to see that,” Guthrie replied, agitated and humorously obscuring the image.

“It was extremely 1990s. “I think I tried to have ‘the Rachel,'” Guthrie added, alluding to Jennifer Aniston’s famous Friends hairdo. “Thanks for coming, now we can burn that,” Guthrie joked.
Al Roker added his two cents, mocking Guthrie with, “That’s crazy how you used to dye your hair black!” She responded, “No, that is my natural hair color. Let us shift the subject.”

Guthrie is no stranger to hair transformations, but she prefers to forget the unpleasant ones. When asked by co-host Dylan Dreyer in 2021 if there was a look she wanted to bring back, she said, “No, mostly it’s like, ‘Never try that again.'” Mostly it’s like, ‘What was I thinking?!’.”
She’d prefer to leave her 2013 auburn hair in the past. “I don’t know why I thought I needed to dye my hair red that one time,” she told me. “I just went out one day, dyed it red, and came in [to the show] the next day, and all the managers were like, ‘Oh, that looks good.
