At a funeral service on Wednesday in Saint-Tropez, in the south of France, fans, friends, and relatives said goodbye to the late French actress Brigitte Bardot.

The service was shown live on big screens in a number of places throughout the town, which is regarded as a posh resort.

The funeral service was also broadcast on French television for fans to watch. Bardot will be laid to rest in a family burial following a procession through the town.

That morning, a few of the actress’s admirers had already assembled at Saint-Tropez. One fan told France Info, “To pay our respects, we traveled for ten hours yesterday.” “She was a truly remarkable woman. A fragment of France has vanished.

There were some well-known faces among the tiny group of visitors to the Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption. Mireille Mathieu, a Chanson artist, sang throughout the liturgy.

According to Mathieu, the two had referred to each other as sisters during their most recent phone conversation prior to the service.

Paul Watson, a well-known opponent of whales, was also present for the service. Bardot has a strong commitment to the welfare of animals.

The actress, who was born in 1934, achieved international recognition with Roger Vadim’s “And God Created Woman.”

At the height of her career, in her mid-seventies, she made almost 40 film appearances before deciding to stop because she was sick of the glitz.

At the end of December, Bardot, who was ninety-one, passed away from cancer.

The family of the movie star, who backed right-wing nationalist Marine Le Pen, reportedly rejected the French presidential palace’s proposal for a lavish homage to her.

In an interview with Paris Match magazine, Bardot’s widower, Bernard d’Ormale, stated that “What Brigitte wanted was a simple funeral.”
