The Traitors’ Ross reveals why his ‘fate was doomed’ from day one

Date:

In the BBC One show, the exiled Faithful told Yahoo UK that he was aware that the net was closing in on him.

After days of growing suspicion, Ross was exiled when the Traitors finally closed in on him during the round table in episode four. The group is still unaware of the major secret he was concealing—his relationship with Ellie—despite his admission that he was a Faithful.

Ross revealed to Yahoo UK the main errors that caused his exile and why he knew his “fate was doomed” from the beginning.

He also talked about how it was to play the game in secret in the castle with his girlfriend Ellie and why they were so wary of other people because of their covert relationship.

‘Our fates were doomed’

As we now know, Ross and Ellie entered the BBC One show with the intention of hiding their relationship from their fellow cast members. However, the 37-year-old personal trainer and sales executive was unaware that he would soon be confronted by yet another connection.

Netty shouted that they were acquainted as soon as he reached the castle. Coincidentally, they had belonged to the same social circle in London prior to Netty’s relocation to Scotland, but although she was happy to see a familiar face, Ross knew things wouldn’t work out.

He told the group that he had hoped to hide their connection because it seemed suspicious, and as he had foreseen, Netty was quickly killed, making Ross appear suspect.

He told Yahoo UK, “I recognized Netty immediately.” “I honestly exclaimed, ‘Oh my god, this is fantastic, I have two allies!'” We had met a number of times. Before Netty left for Scotland, I knew her pretty well. But bless her, I believe she doomed our fates when she yelled, “I know him!”

However, he went on: “Since filming, we’ve spoken, and we had a pleasant conversation. I told her to “don’t worry” after she apologized, but I definitely see situations like that as a double-edged sword because, despite how annoying it was, I was shocked by how much airtime we received. It was a very generous edit.

Where it went wrong

Ross’s fate was sealed by more than just the Netty curveball. He’s happy to acknowledge that whenever he got into a conversation about appearing suspicious, he had a tendency to step in.

“On the first two days, I felt really on the back foot,” he said. “I was just questioned by nineteen people from all over the castle, and many of them asked the same questions over and over. I acknowledge that I made a mistake, but even in retrospect, I don’t think there was anything I could have done differently.”

Ross says he believes the group’s reasons for voting for him were valid, despite the fact that there has been much discussion about apparent unconscious bias in the show’s voting, with three Black players either exiled or killed in four episodes.

“I can only speak for myself on this,” he said. “It is a decision for me, and I am aware that two people knowing each other is an unfair advantage.” Since I’ve played the game, I’m likely to vote myself out as well.

Ross acknowledged that he was surprised by how stressful the round tables were, even though he can see why the group didn’t think he was faithful. They were harsh because, as everyone would say, it’s just a game and you shouldn’t take things personally, but they’re statements made about you. I had to stop reacting to my emotions and instead respond to what was being said.

Ross knows the one crucial thing that could have saved his life when asked what he would do differently in the castle: “I would only speak when asked questions.”

Keeping the Ellie secret

In a diary room scene immediately following Ross’s exile, a tearful Ellie revealed what viewers had been speculating about for days: Ross is her boyfriend.

Fans with keen eyes had found pictures of them together on the internet, but Ross claimed they had done everything in their power to keep their secret and maintain the show’s magic.

Regarding lying to their family and friends, he said, “It was tough, because obviously we were gone for a couple of weeks.” “We just had to say, ‘Oh, we’re doing a digital detox.'”

“Touch wood, I feel like we’ve got a good network around us,” he said when asked if he had ever been concerned that someone might out them. I don’t think people really want to know, even though everyone would ask a ton of questions. I believe that people wish to preserve the magic.

Ross claimed that they were treated as “individual guests” on the show and were not permitted to meet in between filming episodes, even though the producers were well aware of their relationship. He claims that he is still unaware of Ellie’s progress in the competition: “She hasn’t revealed anything! Now all I can do is watch it. Respect.

They were certain that there would be additional cast connections because of Ross and Ellie’s covert romance and his acquaintance with Netty. They have since learned that Judy is Roxy’s mother.

“We all thought there had to be a link (in the cast),” he said. “Yes, they verified Netty and me, but we all believed the family tree had to be involved. We were almost prejudiced in believing there must be more connections, especially since Ellie and I were connected.

Secret Traitor surprise

With the revelation that it was Fiona in the Red Cloak coming right before Ross’s exile, the cast and viewers were equally taken aback by the great twist of a Secret Traitor in series four.

“That was a complete and utter surprise, they did really well on that,” Ross, who is as much of a fan of the twist as anyone else, said. We didn’t know. At the premiere, we were completely taken aback. We all had no idea—not even a hint—that there was a Secret Traitor, which is why we were so impressed.

“It put the public in the view of us at the castle, so I love that level to it,” he continued, adding that it allows viewers to see what it’s like to film the show. In my opinion, it was unfortunate that the Secret Traitor was made public so soon.

Ross was already wary of Fiona, so the identity of the Secret Traitor did not surprise him: “I love that girl.” I did (I believe it might be Fiona). I was aware of Fiona’s intelligence.

“When she would ask questions, it caught my attention. I knew she knew the answers to those innocent questions, so I wasn’t fooled for a second.

“We were already on high alert, so when I heard those small, innocent bits from Fiona, I was like, ‘No, no, no, I’ve got you. ‘”
