One aspect of his mother’s most recent film didn’t sit well with Moses, Gwyneth Paltrow’s son.
The 53-year-old actress claimed that her 19-year-old child did not like watching her sex scenes in the movie with Timothée Chalamet at a Q&A session on Friday, January 9, at the San Vicente Bungalows in Santa Monica, California, in favour of her most recent effort, Marty Supreme.
“Oh my God! Paltrow shared Moses with her ex-husband Chris Martin. “My poor son,” she said to Demi Moore, who participated at a movie screening and the ensuing Q&A. (The ex-couple also has a 21-year-old daughter named Apple.)
“Can you picture his arrival at the L.A. premiere? “He desired death,” she continued.
Chalamet, 30, plays Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme, a shoe salesman in 1950s New York City who is obsessed with being the finest table tennis player in the world.
Alongside Chalamet and Paltrow, the Josh Safdie-directed movie also stars Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher, the newest cover star for PEOPLE.
In October 2024, Chalamet and Paltrow made headlines when they were spotted in Central Park filming scenes where their characters make out.
Paltrow subsequently stated in an April cover story for Vanity Fair, “I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie.” “There’s a lot, a lot.”
Paltrow talked more about sex scenes in a December interview with Vanity Fair, which also revealed why she once refused to do one with her Great Expectations co-star Ethan Hawke due to her father.
When discussing the 1998 film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved book, Hawke, 55, recalled that the film’s director, Alfonso Cuarón, offered Paltrow a sex scene, but she declined.
Paltrow claimed, “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, my father’s going to have a heart attack,'” referring to her father, Bruce Paltrow. In a later statement, she said she felt “really self-conscious about my dad and grandfather seeing this kind of stuff.”
