Ray J has revealed that his heart is only “beating at 25 percent” following his recent near-fatal hospitalization.
Earlier this month, the musician was sent to a Las Vegas medical center after experiencing heart palpitations and acute pneumonia.
The 45-year-old “Sexy Can I” singer, whose actual name is William Ray Norwood Jr., gave an update with fans after returning home over the weekend, saying: “My heart is only beating 25%, but as long as I stay focused and on the right path, everything will be fine.”
“My health is not OK, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me through everything I’ve been in the hospital.”
He also thanked fans for their support during his medical crisis, captioning the post, “Just almost died!! I am alive due of your prayers.
“I thought…” I could manage all the drink, Adderall, and narcotics, but I couldn’t,” he said. He also announced plans to fly to Haiti in two weeks to “do some voodoo,” and praised his sister, singer and actress Brandy, for covering his medical expenses.
Ray J has previously suffered with pneumonia, seeking treatment for a lung infection in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I thought it was over,” he told TMZ at the time, recalling how he shared a hospital wing with COVID-19 sufferers despite testing negative for the virus. “I started praying and knew God is good, so I just kept praying.”

The singer filed a counter-suit, alleging that Kardashian and Jenner “spent two decades peddling the false story that the sex tape… was leaked against her will.” He also claimed that Kardashian and Jenner’s lawsuit originates from their displeasure that he “no longer wants to play along with their tall tale.”
According to the lawsuit, Ray J agreed to a deal with Kardashian and Jenner to ensure that the sex tape was not featured again on their reality show The Kardashians. He argues the agreement was broken, and he is entitled to $1 million in damages.
In reaction to the complaint, Kardashian and Jenner’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told TMZ, “After realizing he is losing the case and losing his way, this disjointed rambling distraction is not intimidating anyone.” “Ray J will also lose this frivolous case.”
