Even while It Ends With Us was financially successful, things weren’t going as planned behind the scenes. Before the film was even released, there were rumors that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were at odds. Since late 2024, the two have been embroiled in a court dispute over the film. Most recently, a series of texts and letters between Lively and other celebrities were made public, which sparked even more curiosity. The “disturbing” chat Lively had with Baldoni during the film’s production is now being revealed by Lively’s driver.

“To me, it was very out of the ordinary to meet somebody and talk like that in a vehicle,” he added in the deposition. That’s why it drew my attention. In essence, he continued to discuss his intercourse. I think I’m saying it again, but he would push himself on women. He would go back if they said no, this, or that.
Alexander ignored Lively’s driver’s testimony that the Jane the Virgin alum discussed “more stuff” throughout the automobile ride. He said, “It is those key points when someone says, you know, forcing myself on women, women forced on me, I didn’t care. I find it unsettling. Something like that is impossible to forget.
After the automobile journey, Alexander remembered telling his supervisor what he thought of Baldoni. According to the deposition, “I pulled over and let everybody out when we got to the production office, which was down the road from that area.” “I feel very uncomfortable,” he allegedly said to Lively. There’s a problem here. I would like to perform a background check on him or something.” Alexander then learnt that Baldoni “was the producer in production of this movie.”
When the two celebrities’ legal dispute started in December 2024, the vehicle chat became public. Lively originally filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department stating that Baldoni generated a “hostile work environment” on the movie’s production. She eventually filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging, among other things, s.l. harassment.
The actor-director, who turned 42 last week, continued to refute all claims brought against him. Baldoni countersued Lively as well. However, in June 2025, his $400 million counterclaim was rejected.
Earlier last month, over 180 released documents were made public, including Alexander’s deposition. Texts between Lively, Baldoni, and their respective associates are discovered in numerous court documents. Taylor Swift and Matt Damon, two of her well-known pals, are also involved in this issue.

Hugh Jackman and Ben Affleck, two of Hollywood’s biggest personalities, have now been officially involved in this legal dispute. The extent to which the disagreement has affected Lively’s closest circle was made clear last week when court filings were unsealed in New York. The documents, made public as part of the $160 million lawsuit, go into a deeper analysis of influence, power, and personal networks in Hollywood. The filings also explain the role of Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds.
With the case now inching toward a possible spring trial, numerous A-listers could be called upon as witnesses. It is presently anticipated that Baldoni and Lively will appear in court later in May 2026.
