I Bought the Buzzy New Balance 327 Sneakers a Year Ago—Now, They’re Still My No. 1 Walking Shoes

Date:

My fiancé and I are avid travelers, and I do not say that lightly. Last summer alone, we went to California (twice), Vegas, and Hawaii for my best friend’s wedding. One of our favourite trips? We visited Boston, Massachusetts, and walked the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile road that runs through 16 historical locations. We are accustomed to walking vast distances in New York City, but a decent pair of comfortable sneakers was still required. Fortunately, I brought my New Balance 327 sneakers.

Interestingly enough, New Balance is headquartered in Massachusetts, but that’s not why I chose the reliable sneakers. The shoes, worn by Meghan Markle and Jennifer Aniston, among others, emanate throwback vibes, with a large company logo, suede-and-mesh top, almond toe, and lace-up closure. The flared, lugged sole adds to their stylish appeal, while the contrasting colors keep them fun.

However, these kicks do more than simply speak the talk; they also walk the walk. Whether I was walking on concrete, pavement, or dirt, the shoes provided plenty of traction and stability without ever feeling uncomfortable. Cramped toes were also eliminated because to the stretchy and breathable nylon silhouette—even after my feet had expanded from walking all around the city. I’ve also never gotten a blister from these shoes, despite wearing them more than 50 times—and, while we’re at it, they still look like new.

While comfort is unquestionably the main draw here, a modern and easy-to-style silhouette doesn’t hurt. I wore mine with little shorts, a simple black tank top, and tube socks for a casual look. However, they may be easily enhanced with a blazer and sleek tote for the office or straight jeans and elegant sunglasses for a shopping trip.

However, there is a disadvantage to these must-have sneakers. Because of their wonderful attributes, almost everyone wants a pair, which causes them to disappear from virtual shelves all the time. Lucky for you, they’ve recently been restocked at Zappos, Anthropologie, Free People, and Nordstrom—so get yours while you can.
