When Timothée Chalamet showed up in a butter-yellow I knew what it meant when I saw the Givenchy leather suit at the Oscars. People have been ignoring the color for a while now. It is the same color as the sun. Big Bird, runny egg yolks, and post-its. For most people, it’s too much—too bright, too cheery, and too in-your-face. Yellow is not subtle. People know that Chalamet is not very laid-back. He said he would wear a yellow suit to the Oscars, and he did.

People had been saying for a long time that butter yellow would come back before he stepped onto the red carpet looking like a new Easter egg. I never really thought about yellow until a few months ago when I saw someone with a big yellow bag from the Canadian brand Le Febour. The Everything Bag is big and slouchy, and it has a thick brown leather strap. It comes in a buttery yellow that caught my eye and apparently everyone else’s. The brand only releases a few bags every few weeks, and so far, the butter-yellow one is the first to sell out every time, in seconds. I was lucky enough to get one, and I want it every day.

I’ve seen a lot of yellow bags lately, and I’m sure yellow suits will be everywhere soon, too, as women try to turn their partners into Timmy Tim. Yellow bags are the simplest way to add the color to your wardrobe without it being too much. In my opinion, there is just the right amount of yellow. You can wear it like a ray of sunshine and throw it over your shoulder. It makes things feel lighter, which is something we could all use right now in 2025.

I have seen yellow bags everywhere, from social media to street style to the runway. It is interesting to people all over the world. Girls are carrying yellow bags all over the place, from New York to Paris to London. But unlike other bag trends, you don’t have to worry about this one being too popular because not everyone has the same yellow bag. It’s easy to join in without feeling like you’re wearing the same thing as everyone else.
Jacquemus and Prada have also recently given their runway models little yellow bags to carry. It’s a great look because bags are very serious. They often need saving so you can buy them or self-control so you don’t go broke. To have one in a bright yellow that makes noise is the kind of fun fashion should always be. It makes the whole outfit look more fun, and who doesn’t want to feel lighter?
