Whenever I Wear This French Perfume, Everyone Asks Me About It

Date:

Eleanor is my name, and I love scents. My world is better when I’m surrounded by aroma, whether it’s niche perfume brands or candles that smell costly. As a beauty editor, I’ve built up a pretty big collection of scents. As part of my job, I get to send these. But I have my favourite perfumes that I’ll buy for myself. Some of my favourite brands that I wear every day include Diptyque, Guerlain, and Dior. But they aren’t all pricey. I also enjoy this French perfume brand that doesn’t cost a lot. The French do manufacture some of the best scents, that’s for sure. I actually spoke with a French perfumer on a recent trip to Paris. He told me exactly how to smell good and what standards French women follow when it comes to scents. If you put an eau de parfum on my head and asked me which perfume I would wear for the rest of my life, I would probably choose a French brand.

When I heard about D’Orsay, a new niche French fragrance brand, I was immediately interested. I say new, although the brand has been around for about 200 years. Amélie Huynh changed the brand in 2015, although the scents still have the same roots. Alfred d’Orsay, the brand’s first owner, developed it to celebrate his secret love affair by making perfumes that both he and she could use. It’s easy to argue that he was ahead of his time because genderless scents have just recently become common.

The same idea still holds true today. The scents are unisex and meant to be shared by couples. The names of the perfumes all have an initial on the bottle that is based on the perfumer’s secret personality. The wearer can imagine who the person is, and each scent conveys a particular moment of love. Do you see what I mean about how the French come up with fantastic perfume ideas?

how nice your pOf course, I had to try a few of the brand’s most popular perfumes, and I wasn’t let down. The bottles are quite stylish, and the juice inside is just as appealing. You can read my review of D’Orsay perfumes below. If you decide to sample one, you have been warned. People will tell youerfume smells.

Eau Capitale Eau de Parfum

Patchouli lovers, take note: you must smell this. Completely woodsy, it has a deeply velvety twist from the rose that clings to the skin for hours. The scent is definitely flirty. It’s not too hefty, though. It has a floral lift from grapefruit, magnolia, and geranium, and a warm, dry, and earthy dry-down that reveals vetiver. To be honest, I can’t get this one out of my nose.

This is great if you enjoy:
