The Summer House singer, who stopped alcohol and drugs in 2021, opened up about his relationship with the Cravings cookbook author after she thanked him for inspiring her recent sober journey.
“I’ve developed a friendship with her over the last few years talking about sobriety and different things she was experiencing,” he stated during a 92NY Collective panel with his Summer House castmates at Kaufmann Concert Hall in New York City on January 28. “I’ve warned her numerous times, ‘It’s not a linear road. It’s fine if you take a few weeks off and then return—just be honest with yourself.”
In a Jan. 27 Instagram post, Chrissy, 40, commended Carl for his “honesty and openness around his own journey with sobriety,” noting that his recent visit on her Self-Conscious podcast coincided with a huge professional opportunity.

“Within the same week of talking to Carl, I stopped drinking again,” she posted on the social media platform. “I had been in talks for Star Search and knew that if I were given the incredible chance to be on the show, there was absolutely no f–king way I’d do it with alcohol in my dressing room.”
Chrissy stated that it had been 52 days since her last drink and that she had “no desire to turn back.”
“Turns out, without it, I can still be funny,” she continued. “Still be foolish. Still be quite nervous. Anxious as a motherfucker. And I can go through everything without it.”
