Following her divorce from David Harbour, Lily Allen has talked candidly about the “huge change” that has occurred in her and her children’s lives.
After four years of marriage, the 40-year-old pop diva and the Stranger Things actor split up, with the pop star suffering greatly emotionally from the accusations of infidelity.
She previously disclosed that she experienced a “nervous breakdown” following the dissolution of her marriage, and she has subsequently detailed her anguish in her most recent album.
On the Miss Me? podcast, Allen, who has two kids with her first husband Sam Cooper, has been open about the consequences.
“I’ve done quite a bit this year,” she declared.
“I finished an album, had a boob job, had a nervous breakdown, spent some time in the hospital, came out, did some podcasting, and then I played one of the hardest songs in theater and killed myself (in the role of Hedda Gabler) every night for seven weeks.”
“My kids are f**king mental at the moment,” she continued, referring to her teenage children, Ethel, 14, and Marnie, 13. There are numerous inquiries.

She disclosed that she and her kids’ lives had recently undergone numerous upheavals.
“It’s a lot,” she said, adding that “we’ve changed schools, countries, and houses.”
The Fear singer claimed to have transitioned from being a stay-at-home mother to a working single parent, balancing frequent travel and new employment prospects.
She previously disclosed that she felt suicidal after the divorce, which led to her voluntarily checking herself into a rehab facility.
She stated that dealing without those crutches was painful but also a symbol of personal fortitude, having given up drugs and alcohol six years ago.
Lily Allen’s 2025 album West End Girl, in which she describes learning of a three-year affair her husband supposedly had with a lady she refers to as “Madeline,” highlighted the rumors of adultery surrounding her and David Harbour.
Songs like “Madeline” and “Tennis” imply that Harbour violated the terms of their open marriage, which finally led to their breakup in late 2024 or early 2025.
Harbour reflected on his “pain, slip-ups, and mistakes” in an interview with Esquire Spain in September, just before the release of Lily’s West End Girl album, ahead of his 50th birthday.
“That’s such a hard question – the question of regret, or something,” he said to the magazine when asked what he would alter about his life. Either everything or nothing would be changed by me.
“You either fully embrace your path and come to terms with the fact that even the suffering, errors, and setbacks are a necessary part of the trip and that they all lead to wisdom, progress, and a greater sense of empathy and connection.
“It’s kind of like a house of cards, the minute you try to change one thing you kind of have to change it all.”
He went on to say that he would “just make my life happy and silly” and change “everything” if he could change one thing in his life, even though doing so would “suck” his artistic ability.
