On Wednesday, December 31, the singer of “Raise Your Glass” posted a selfie of herself wearing a medical gown, a big bandage around her neck, and a big smile.
A thoughtful message about her 2025 and an explanation for her hospital visit accompanied the happy Instagram photo.
Instead of having a facelift, the performer joked that she would be getting “two new shiny discs in my neck.” She wrote, “Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport,” and that she was “by [her]self” in a hospital room while her family was snowboarding.
“This year was a doozy for all of us and it ran the spectrum from absolutely devastating to mildly annoying,” across the “So What” artist wrote. “There was a great deal of beauty among all of that. And I had the freedom to get out of bed every morning and go about my daily life. The business of loving my kids and supporting them while they pursue their goals.
This year, the mother of two said, she had to say goodbye to “incredibly important people” and “realized dreams this year, as well as nightmares.” However, she pledged to “work this year to help preserve the choices of others to make for themselves and their families and this very pursuit of happiness” in the year 2026.
