After taking a leave of absence from the well-liked morning program to have surgery on her vocal chords, “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie has provided fans with an update on her health.
In a recent “Today” program, the 54-year-old disclosed that she will have surgery at the beginning of 2026 and would then be absent from NBC’s Manhattan studios for a “couple of weeks” while she heals at home.
Despite not being able to speak just yet, Guthrie has already reassured her supporters that she is “all good” after the surgery.
In order to reassure “Today” viewers that she is doing well, the TV personality and mother of two, who celebrated her 54th birthday on December 27, posted a picture of herself holding up a little whiteboard on Instagram with the caption, “All good! I appreciate your love and prayers.
With a smile on her face and the sign raised, she captioned the photo, “see you soon.”

On December 19, Guthrie informed her followers that she would be returning as soon as possible, but that the operation is not a “big, big deal.”
My voice has been quite scratchy and has begun to crack a little, as some of you have noticed. “Well, I’ve discovered what it is,” she told the audience.
“I have a polyp in addition to voice nodules. This is my last day for a short while because I will need to undergo surgery in the new year and be away for a few weeks. It’s not a huge deal.”
She went on to say that she was relieved that a long-standing problem had been identified, even if it would require surgery: “This has been going on for years, honestly, so to have a solution…”
Guthrie disclosed that several viewers had previously expressed disapproval of her voice tone, stating that they believed she was suffering from “the world’s longest head cold.”
Though she quipped that this would be a nice gift for her family, the on-air host will not be able to talk for several weeks following the treatment, which is a significant disadvantage.
Completely quiet. “Christmas is coming early for my family,” she laughed.
Guthrie also received assistance from her co-star Sheinelle Jones, who disclosed that she had previously had the same surgery and noted that the recuperation period had many benefits.
The bright side is that you are allowed to remain still. When the house becomes quiet, the children will want to assist you. Jones remarked, “A lot of the greats have done it. Maybe you’ll come out singing like, I don’t know, Celine Dion.”
“Well, you know, it’s really funny, I used to sing,” quipped Guthrie. After that, I lost the ability to sing and eventually my ability to talk. Who knows? The trip is scheduled for 2026, men.
At her $11 million Brooklyn townhouse, where she has resided since 2023 with her husband, Michael Feldman, and their kids, Vale and Charley, Guthrie will be recuperating from her surgery.
Records show that Feldman and Guthrie paid $11.35 million for their 4,500-square-foot home, which has four baths and six bedrooms.
The family sold their Tribeca flat and moved into the massive home because they had a “vision and dream of living in a townhouse.”
Guthrie previously displayed her enormous Christmas tree and gave a sneak peek into her condo.
The TV anchor’s emotive ornaments and charming tree drew praise from fans who flocked to the comments area. One social media user called the conifer a “memory tree,” while another called it “so nice.”
When Guthrie asked the morning show cameras to accompany her on a tour of her favorite spots in the desert town of Tucson, Arizona, she previously revealed more about her childhood there.
After introducing fans to her favorite restaurant and sorority house, Guthrie—a University of Arizona graduate—visited her mother, Nancy, who still resides in the same house where the reporter was raised.
Prior to the segment’s broadcast, Guthrie discussed the importance of her journey and her intention to highlight the various locations in Tucson that shaped who she is today.
She told Tucson.com that she hoped the on-air tour would be viewed by the people as a heartfelt homage to their neighborhood.
“To Tucson, it will be a lovely love letter. That is undoubtedly the goal,” she stated.
The first stop on that tour of love letters? She claimed that her “No. 1 priority” whenever she travels home is to get her favorite Mexican food at the neighborhood restaurant Old Pueblo.
In the about eight-hour-long part, which was shot on October 17, Guthrie traveled to Tucson and spent her days doing a variety of things, including visiting her mother, which she described as “really cute.”
