Duchess Sophie’s old money Valentino dress is the ultimate formal look for your 60s

Date:

The Duchess of Edinburgh is a master of sophisticated attire, effortlessly balancing new trends with regal majesty. She always manages to dress in a way that draws attention to the event without taking away the limelight, especially at sensitive engagements and more low-key occasions.

On Tuesday, January 27, she paid a visit to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in London for the re-launch of the ‘Baby Steps’ campaign, and she looked gorgeous without overpowering the event.

The 61-year-old chose a bright red Valentino maxi dress that hit just above her ankles and had a shirt-style collar and button-down front. She wore a light brown-beige single-breasted blazer from Max Mara over it, as well as Penelope Chilvers shoes that complemented nicely.

To round off the ensemble, Prince Edward’s wife kept her long blonde hair down and accessorized with a chocolate brown Sophie Habsburg purse and a set of delicate gold hoop earrings, as well as a low-key make-up look to keep things professional.
