According to a recent report, Star-Lord, one of the most well-known heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday. This rumor surfaced soon after Chris Pratt, the actor portraying the character, was evasively when questioned about his role in the event movie in a recent interview. Notably, Star-Lord took part in the decisive fight against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and had a significant role in Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel’s legendary outlaw, Star-Lord rumored to sit out of Avengers: Doomsday
According to a recent rumor from renowned scooper MyTimetoShineHello, Star-Lord will not participate in the events of Avengers: Doomsday but will appear in its direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. “Star-Lord is not in Doomsday, but he will be in Secret Wars,” they posted on X (previously Twitter).

James Mack, a fellow detective who had previously asserted that the Guardians of the Galaxy commander would make an appearance in both the movie and the Disney+ series Vision Quest, rejected the story. “Lol, friend, I’m 100% sure that Quill will be in Doomsday, you can be certain of that,” was their response.
In the end, this is merely a rumor because Marvel Studios has not officially stated whether or not the blaster-wielding hero will make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday.
This occurs a few days after Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt stated in a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel that he would be honest with Pope Leo XIV, whom he met in December 2025, about whether or not he was in Doomsday.
Notably, Star-Lord is one of numerous unconfirmed heroes for Avengers: Doomsday, including Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Hulk, and his Guardians teammates.
On December 18, 2026, Doomsday will make its theatrical debut. In the movie, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom faces off against the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and Wakandans. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay, which Anthony and Joe Russo directed.
