Nick Cave & Warren Ellis To Compose Score For Netflix Series ‘Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole’

Date:

The original music for Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, a Norwegian detective drama on Netflix, will be composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.

The two will contribute their noir sensibilities to the series, having previously collaborated on soundtracks for films like Wind River, The Proposition, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

Based on the worldwide best-selling crime books of author Nesbø, the show is produced by Working Title. Tobias Santelmann plays the anti-hero detective Harry Hole in the whodunnit serial murderer drama. He battles Tom Waaler (Joel Kinnaman), his longtime enemy and dishonest detective, while also trying to apprehend a serial killer and prosecute Waaler before it’s too late.

The directors are Anna Zackrisson and Øystein Karlsen, and other notable actors include Pia Tjelta, Anders Baasmo, Ellen Helinder, Simon J. Berger, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, and Kelly Gale. Tor Arne Øvrebø is the producer for Working Title and its parent business, Universal International Studios, while Nesbø is the writer and creator. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra, Karlsen, Nesbø, and Niclas Salomonsson are among the executive producers.

“We had a great time working on this adaptation,” Cave remarked. “It was an honor to work with the legendary Jo Nesbo, and Harry Hole’s murky, morally complex world has been brought to life in all its darkly brutal glory.”

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds is led by Australian singer-songwriter Cave. His distinctive voice and manner have served as the foundation for songs like “Into My Arms,” “The Mercy Seat,” and “Red Right Hand,” all of which have appeared in movies and television series. He and bandmate Ellis have collaborated on many soundtracks.

“Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are masters at evoking mood and tension, and their music is the perfect companion to Harry Hole’s brooding, enigmatic journey through the shadows of Oslo,” Nesbø continued. My writing process has always been accompanied by their music. It feels both weird and perfectly correct to have them now score the universe of Harry Hole.
