This Triangle Movie Theater is Closing Soon. Here’s the last Day To See a Film

Date:

A cinema theatre in a town in the Triangle will shortly close.

Early in the upcoming year, B&B Theatres will close its Morrisville facility. Casto, the owner of Park West Village, the shopping centre where the movie theatre is situated, made the announcement in a news release.

The news announcement stated, “Looking ahead, zoning has been approved for a mixed-use development at Park West Village.” “Casto will release information about the redevelopment as it becomes available.”

The theatre was the first B&B Theatres venue in North Carolina, opening in 2021. According to the company’s website, it is the only surviving B&B Theatres facility in the state and is situated at 3400 Village Market Place.

In the press release, B&B Theatres president Brock Bagby stated, “B&B Theatres at Park West Village has been a place where families gathered, friends met, and memories were made.” “As we get ready to close this location, we want to thank Casto and the community for years of support and invite everyone to come one last time during this special time of year.”

The theatre will close on Sunday, January 4. The news release advised anyone having a gift card to use it before the theater’s last day.

AMC Park Place 16, located in the Park Place retail centre at 9525 Chapel Hill Road, is the only other movie theatre in Morrisville.

B&B Theatres will have theatres in 14 states after the Morrisville facility shuts. B&B Theatres has been contacted by The News & Observer for further comment.

In recent years, B&B Theatres has not been the only theatre in Wake County to close. Regal shuttered their Beaver Creek theatre in Apex in 2024.

Park West Village redevelopment

For years, the public has been aware that the theatre would close. The N&O claimed in 2023 that B&B Theatres was one of a few Park West Village establishments that would have been razed for redevelopment.

The other two establishments that would be demolished were the now-gone Which Wich and Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar. Bad Daddy’s is still open, however Wich has since shuttered its Park West Village location.

The N&O was previously informed by a burger restaurant spokesperson that the business had “every intention of staying in that area.”
