If you thought the mermaidcore trend was over in 2023, KATSEYE is here to change your mind with a highly glam rendition, styled by Katie Qian.
On January 29, 2026, members of KATSEYE attended Spotify’s 2026 Best New Artist party in West Hollywood, dressed in coordinating ensembles that reversed the sea siren-inspired trend. Megan, Daniela, Manon, Lara, Sophia, and Yoonchae arrived to the event, each dressed in a unique outfit adorned with crystals and embroidery.
KATSEYE members turned heads with their silver, pink, and green attire. Megan donned a shell-pink short dress with tiny silver and crystal beadings on the chest and skirt, a cutaway on her lower tummy, and a soft, long train falling behind her. Daniela chose a midriff-baring two-piece consisting of a shimmering silver sheer fishnet maxi skirt with crystal flower inserts and a bra top, which she accessorized with a dangling cross necklace and a tick crystal choker.
Manon went for an Old Hollywood vibe, wearing a fringed nude dress with elaborate beading that cascaded into an ombré pink-and-purple scalloped skirt that made her appear to be pouring in jewels. Lara deviated from the pinkish hue with a form-fitting, olive-green transparent dress embellished with foliage and mossy details that added a daring edge to the plunging neckline.
Sophia, on the other hand, chose a flowy, dusty pink gown with a floral appliqué detail on the left shoulder and a cascading, crisscrossed side slit embellished with ombré, scale-like beading that extended to the top side of her bodice, matching the pearly white drop-shaped diamond necklace on her chest.
Last but not least, Yoonchae combined pink and green in her strapless, softly ombré, floor-length gown, which was adorned in crystals and featured an almost-iridescent toile, creating the illusion of a corset with contrasting vertical beading on the bodice. Megan, Daniela, Manon, and Lara finished off their appearances with dazzling Rene Caovilla heels.
Beauty-wise, the members accentuated the mermaid aesthetic, with the majority wearing copious pink blush on their cheeks and eyes, matched by glossy, plump lip colors. Lara pushed it to the next level with her wet-look hairdo. Manon went for big Hollywood curls. Sophia and Daniela preferred wavy blowouts, with the latter wearing braided face-framing tendrils; Megan and Yoonchae opted for long straight hair, with the former adding pink highlights to complement her outfit and cosmetics.
Later in the evening, the group changed into coordinating black lace ensembles for their performance, which relied primarily on trompe-l’oeil detailing and daring cutouts. Katie Qian also styled the ensembles, which were custom-made by Dion Lee’s HÆLO company.
Since its debut in 2024, KATSEYE has earned a name for themselves with catchy tunes and daring looks, which are largely designed by their creative director, Humberto Leon. Their appearance at the Spotify Best New Artist 2026 party demonstrates that the sextet’s style is unlikely to change anytime soon. If anything, they’re only becoming bolder—so keep an eye out for them when they take over international events like Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Governors Ball later this year.
