Floss Bikinis Are a Thing, and They’re Exactly What You’re Thinking

This summer is going to feel ten times more normal than last year, so we need to buy ourselves some new, stylish bikinis. The trend I want to talk about today is one I first saw in swimwear and clothes. I called the trend “any piece of clothing that ties and wraps around a bare midriff in a slinky way,” but as I looked into it more, I saw that it’s not just a clothes micro-trend. It’s also a big trend in bikinis. I’m calling them “floss bikinis” for the sake of journalism.

Floss bikinis are the summer 2021 version of last year’s highly popular floss heels. And yes, these swimsuits are exactly what you think they are: tiny strings that wrap around different parts of the body, crisscrossing here and there and, well, everywhere.

Most of the ties are on the tops, however I did uncover some interesting versions of the trend that had more than one string on the bikini bottoms. Take some time to look at all the different ways you may wear the floss-bikini trend this summer, no matter where you are.

We love this trend in black because it allows you to mix and match with a wide variety of bottoms. So whether you're a barely-there, tie-side girl or prefer a more retro high-rise cut, the trend still applies.

We adore this black trend since it goes well with so many different types of bottoms. The trend therefore remains relevant regardless of your preference for a more vintage high-rise cut or a barely-there, tie-side lady.

Although this picture makes us long for summertime get-togethers and beaches, we will use it as motivation to update our selection of swimwear for the time being.

I had no idea a bikini with flowers could be so intriguing. Don’t worry, this set also accommodates those who want high-rise bottoms.
