Although I never imagined wearing red, it’s quickly emerging as one of my favorite summer hues. Look below to see how I’m sporting the color this season.
Even though I prefer neutral colors and am a minimalist, I’m constantly looking for ways to add color to my summer wardrobe. I usually only use blacks, creams, and browns, but when May arrives, I feel like I want something a little more colorful, which definitely pushes me beyond my comfort zone.
This year, I looked to the runways to make incorporating color into my wardrobe as stress-free as possible. Based on my research, I discovered that red was the most popular bright color during the summer 2025 runway shows. It’s evident that red dominated the season’s color scheme as a logical continuation of the burgundy color trend that ruled over winter, as seen in the collections of Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, and Ferragamo, to mention a few. However, designers are now moving closer to its brighter-hued cousin by choosing a range of tomato tones for their summer 2025 collections, whether through full-fledged rouge looks or accessories like shoes and bags.
If, like me, you prefer muted tones and neutral colors, it might seem like a bold choice, but don’t let that deter you. Red gives your regular outfit a dopamine boost, and although it might seem overwhelming at first, you might be surprised at how many different ways you can style the color. I’ve compiled a list of incredibly stylish outfit formulas below to show you (and myself) that wearing red doesn’t have to be frightening.5 Summer Outfits With Red I’ll Be Recreating This Year:
