Recently, Sienna Miller has made some really good fashion decisions. She is constantly seen wearing the newest and trendiest styles, from her playful leopard-print pants to her timeless Sézane trench coat. We can also add some extremely bold items to this list today, such over-the-knee boots and a “naked” jumpsuit.
Having worn a sheer Fendi Couture gown at The Prince’s Trust Gala last year, Miller is no stranger to the “naked dress” trend. However, her latest interpretation of the trend has given us huge fashion inspiration for autumn. Miller wore what I mistook for a sheer lace-mesh dress and black leather thigh-high boots at the 81st Venice International Film Festival’s red carpet closing ceremony this past weekend. However, it turned out to be a jumpsuit. However, the same rules still hold true.
One of the most praised looks of the season, the ensemble was a full Chloé look from the brand’s A/W 24 show. Although the ensemble may seem bold, over-the-knee boots are a popular choice for footwear because of their frequent appearance on the catwalks. We are now seeing them on a number of other stylish celebrities, such as Daisy Edgar-Jones.

The “naked” dress trend, which gained popularity in the 1960s and was popularized by fashion giants like Cher and Jane Birkin, has continued to be a favorite on the red carpet for celebrities when they want to make a true design statement. Something about lace makes it more autumn-appropriate than the mesh, sequin, and tulle types we’ve seen previously, especially if you choose it in darker hues like black or burgundy. In addition, sheer lace is ideal for layering. When the temperature drops, you can wear your sheer lace dress over something bulkier, such jeans, a knitted jumper, or a slip dress.

It can be challenging to design sheer gowns without looking too “out there,” but Miller’s lace dress looks great since it contrasts with the more comfortable black boots. Additionally, if you want to try the style and feel more at ease, you may always replace her frilly boxers with a bodysuit or small bodycon dress.

Therefore, thigh-high boots are incredibly wearable, going well with shorts, skirts, and dresses of all lengths, even though we won’t be wearing them to the pub this weekend (more power to you!).
