Taking off makeup is the most important part of a woman’s nightly skin care routine, so almost every woman has makeup remover in her beauty bag. But store-bought remover isn’t always the best choice. If you wear makeup every day like I do, buying bottle after bottle can get expensive after a while, and it might not even work as well as you want it to. Here are some other things you can use to take off your makeup that might be easier to find and better for your skin!
1. Jelly made from oil
This is my favorite way to remove makeup without using makeup remover. I already use petroleum jelly around my eyes at night to keep them moist. 2. Oil for babies
Baby oil is another great option for makeup remover that new moms can use. The best way to use this is to spray some on a cotton pad and put it over your closed eyes. Don’t rub it in; instead, gently massage your eyes in small circles. This will easily get rid of not just the eye shadow but also any eyeliner or mascara.

4. Honey
Honey is also one of my favorite kitchen-based makeup removers. Honey is probably one of the most useful and versatile foods. It has dozens of beauty uses, and one of them is as a makeup remover. 5. Yogurt
I know, you probably made a strange face when you read that. Yogurt? That’s just crazy now. But it isn’t! If you don’t have any other options, plain yogurt (not the fancy fruit ones) will work just fine. Just don’t get any in your eyes, or it might irritate them. Also, make sure to wash your face well because the bacteria in the yogurt could go bad if you don’t.

6. Aloe Vera
Not just for burns, ladies! If you have oily skin and don’t want to make it worse, aloe vera is great. It will take off your makeup just fine, and it’s great for mascara that is hard to get off. It won’t make your skin greasy and is very gentle, especially around the eyes. Aloe will also help reduce redness and calm down any swelling in your eyes if they are feeling irritated or puffy.
