7 Vital Reasons Not to Sleep with Makeup on

Date:

Learning reasons not to sleep with makeup on can have a big impact on how you care for your skin, as well as how your skin cares for you! Taking care of your skin will pay off. Like most girly-girls, I love wearing makeup, but I learned early on in my teens how important it is to take it off before bed. It’s easy to remember to wash your face before bed if you get into the habit. Here are the main reasons why you shouldn’t sleep with makeup on.

1. Lashes that break easily

Among all of the reasons not to sleep with makeup on, brittle lashes are at the top of my list. We all want long, thick, beautiful lashes. After all, mascara companies are always trying to get people to buy their products by showing off the nicest lashes possible! If you sleep in mascara, it will dry out your lashes, making them brittle, dry, and easy to break. To stimulate healthy lash growth, don’t sleep in your makeup!

2. Pores That Are Clogged

Putting on makeup before bed could make your pores more likely to get clogged. Your skin heals as you sleep, but if you wear makeup, your pores can’t breathe! If you don’t cleanse your face, clogged pores can cause or make outbreaks worse.

3. Pillowcases with stains

It’s the worst when you have to get mascara off your pillowcase. And after foundation dries, it can be hard to get off. When I have slept in makeup, damaging my pillowcase has always been at the top of my list of things I wish I hadn’t done. I have silk pillowcases, and they are hard to take care of.

4. Place where bacteria can grow

At night, washing your face not only takes off your makeup, but it also gets rid of any dirt from the day. If you let skin oils, smoking and smut, and germs and bacteria from your hands or phone touch your face, they will make a good place for bacteria to grow overnight. This can cause breakouts, cold sores, and skin that isn’t healthy in general!

“Enhancing your beauty doesn’t always mean going for the glossy look. More ladies now see the allure of a shine-free finish. With the right tools and techniques, you can also achieve a flawless, subtle glow. Learn how to master this trend by following these incredible matte makeup tutorials. Enhance your natural complexion without the unnecessary flash.”

5. Skin that is dull

We all want skin that is smooth and young, right? Your skin will be dull and dry if you sleep with makeup on. At night, your skin needs to breathe and make the vitamins and minerals that keep it healthy and bright. Your skin will have a hard time healing itself if there is makeup in your pores.

6. Encourager of Bad Habits

If you sleep with makeup on once or twice, it can be simpler to fall asleep and forget about it the next night. Then you start to support unhealthy habits! Keep a pack of makeup-removing wipes by your bed for those evenings when you’re too tired to even think about wiping your face. You can at least take off your makeup before bed and then wash, tone, and moisturize in the morning!

7. More work to do in the morning

You know how bad it is to wake up the next morning after sleeping in makeup if you’ve done it before. It takes a lot of work to get rid of smeared makeup that has been crushed in overnight. First, use a makeup remover, and then wash your face. After that, use a clay mask to help pull out dirt and oil, and then moisturize well. If you can, don’t wear any makeup that day or at least wear very little makeup so your skin can breathe.
