7 Ways to Make Makeup Last on Oily Skin

Date:

These ideas are great for people with oily skin who want their makeup to last longer. Sometimes having oily skin can be hard, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with cosmetics! We just need to be a little more choosy about the things we buy and find what works for us!

Keep safe

Before we talk about how to make makeup last on oily skin and what products to use, let’s not forget about sunscreen! You should safeguard your gorgeous skin no matter what type it is. Look for sunscreens that protect against both UVA and UVB rays, have an SPF of at least 15, and are light and oil-free

Prime

Primers are an important part of these methods for making makeup endure. You may have previously used face and eye primers, but I like to add another mattifying lotion to my T-zone to make it even better. Aloe Vera gel and Monistat are two products that some women use as face primer or lip balm because regular primers don’t work for them. Yes, I really do mean the Monistat. You can even use these two things to prep your eyes! Try several things and find what works best for you. Even if something sounds strange, it might work well for you!

Relax

When you’re learning how to make your makeup last, it’s important to know which foundations work best for your skin type. You would think that thicker foundations are better since you want a finish that lasts, but it’s actually better to keep on the sheerer side. Look for foundations that don’t have oil in them, and don’t put on too much when the weather becomes colder so you don’t clog your pores.

Powder

It may seem strange, but one way to make your makeup last longer is to use less powder. It sounds a little crazy, doesn’t it? I know, but too much powder can make your skin look artificial, cakey, and make your pores generate even more oil. You can use powder all over your face to set your foundation, but for a sheer, sexy look, only put it on the parts of your face that get shiny

“Making yourself look better doesn’t always mean going for the shiny look.” More women are now interested in a finish that doesn’t shine. You may also get a perfect, soft glow with the correct tools and methods. These amazing matte makeup tutorials will show you how to conquer this trend. “Make your skin look better without the extra flash.”

Blot

If you have oily skin, use blotting sheets after you’ve put on all of your makeup to help it last. Blotting papers are a quick and easy solution to get rid of extra oil without adding more makeup. Sometimes, when I use certain blotting papers, they take off some of my makeup. To level it out, I put on some powder after I blot, but that’s not necessary.

Water-resistant

Using waterproof eye makeup is another way to make your makeup remain longer. I know that waterproof eye makeup can be hard to wipe off, but it lasts! If you don’t like that idea, a long-wearing solution is a perfect option to waterproof. Also, WebMD says that one of the best ways to make your eye makeup stay is to use waterproof eyeliner and cream eye shadow on top of an eye primer.

Less

Getting rid of extra oil in your life is another way to help your makeup last longer. Treat your skin to an oil-absorbing mask and let it rest from all the primping. A deep-cleansing, clarifying, or clay mask will help pull out and soak up oils and dirt, as well as tighten pores. For optimal results, use a mask once or twice a week.
