When we think of cosmetic surgery, we often think of California, where many celebrities visit plastic surgeons. New York and Miami are other well-known hubs, with huge search volumes for such operations. However, recent research caught us off guard—Delaware scored as the state most interested in cosmetic surgery, and numerous other top-ranking states were also unexpected.
Medical professionals at Med.ro analyzed average monthly Google search volumes for various procedures and related keywords across U.S. states. They examined combined search terms like “X near me” and “how much is X” for each procedure to determine which states show the greatest interest in cosmetic surgery—and which procedures attract the most attention.
Thinking About Plastic Surgery? You’re Not Alone
Delaware sees 308 cosmetic surgery-related searches per 100,000 residents each month. Rhode Island came in second, followed by Maryland in third place. Virginia and Georgia secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
The study also found that the Brazilian Butt Lift is the most searched cosmetic procedure in the U.S., despite its known risks. Other top-searched procedures include tummy tucks, hair transplants, liposuction, and rhinoplasty.
