Whether you want a clean base for nail art or a more minimalist look, nude nail colours are your best friend. Gina Edwards, a celebrity manicurist, explains that these shades are neutral, flesh-toned and provide a seamless transition from nail to skin. “A nude nail colour is a neutral tone with a brown, tan, pink, or white undertone,” nail artist Tara Hayes explains. “Nudes come in a variety of tones and opacities, both cool and warm. Typically, they range from full coverage to a thin veil of colour or a variety of opacities.
There are numerous options for choosing a nude shade. A good rule of thumb? Select a colour that is similar to your nail bed, skin tone, or any shade in between. Consider them a nail foundation—they add a hint of colour for a look that is similar to your own but better.

Gucci Beauty Ellen Blush is an opaque pinky-beige shade with a long-lasting glossy finish. The formula is quick-drying and plant-based. This shade is fairly universal, but it is more nude for people with fair skin and pink undertones.

“OPI’s Baby, Take a Vow is a soft, delicate, and timeless nude perfect for anyone with a preference for sheer elegance,” says Hayes. “Its light-beige undertone creates a natural and sophisticated appearance that compliments a wide range of skin tones.”” However, this polish is extremely sheer. If you prefer a higher opacity, this is not the best option.

The sheer Luxio Blush shade is described by the brand as the ideal base for a French manicure. It’s a gel polish with a creamy consistency that applies smoothly. Because this colour isn’t translucent, it’s suitable for any complexion.

Edwards is also a big fan of OPI’s Put It In Neutral. This sheer beige shade has pink, milky undertones that make it appear as if you’re just wearing a clear coat. The formula dries quickly and lasts up to seven days.

DND Sheer Nude, aptly named for its lack of pink, is an excellent gel polish option. It has a glass-like jelly finish that lets the details of your natural nail show through.
